Undergraduate
Undergraduate students applying for admission to the Teacher Licensure Program must be seeking a bachelors degree at CSU in a major approved for educator licensing. Candidates will earn a bachelors Degree in their content area (B.A., B.S., or B.M.) and also an institutional recommendation for a teaching license in their content area.
The program is designed to complement degree programs rather than add to them so that the student can complete their Colorado State experience in 4 years.
The Educator Licensing Program at Colorado State offers these teaching endorsement areas for undergraduate students:
Pre-K – Grade 3
- Early Childhood Education
Kindergarten – Grade 12
- Art
- Foreign Languages
- Music
Secondary
- Agricultural Education
- Business Education
- Consumer and Family Studies
- English
- Marketing Education
- Mathematics
- Science
- Social Studies
- Technology Education
- Trade and Industry Education
For more information on teaching areas (endorsements), please go to this website
Along the left side, click on Teaching Areas...go down this page until you see an area of endorsement that might closely fit your area in which you wish to teach. The third page of these documents lists the content area courses that are needed. You would have the adviser for that area evaluate your transcript to see which content area courses you would need for licensure. (There is an adviser(s) for each content area that would look at transcripts and help determine which content courses you need to take. Start by calling the adviser(s) listed on the website here, to see which content area courses you will need.)
The team and Project Promise programs will not be offered; keep checking this site for more information on a future graduate program.
If you have questions for the ECE and Undergraduate licensure, please contact the Teacher Licensure Office by e-mail teachinfo@cahs.colostate.edu or by phone 970.491.5292.
Thank you.
