Teaching Areas

  • The Educator Licensing Program in the School of Education at Colorado State University offers the following individual teaching/endorsement areas from which individuals may choose.
  • The program is a non-degree, licensing only program i.e., Bachelor degrees in education are not awarded. Undergraduate students receive a B.S., B.A. or B.M. in their content area.).
  • Colorado State is the only institution recognized by the State of Colorado to provide teacher preparation in vocational education.
  • Candidates in vocational education areas must also receive a vocational credential along with a teaching license for employment in public schools.
  • All teaching endorsement areas provide individuals with an institutional recommendation for a license to teach in grades 7-12 except for the areas of art and music which allow an individual to be licensed in grades K-12th grade and the area of early childhood education which allows an individual to teach in PreK-3rd grade.
  • Colorado State does not offer a teaching endorsement in elementary education (grades K-6).  For more information on options with regard to elementary education, click here: Elementary Education Options

Vocational Credentialing
