Biography:

Mary Sovick is the owner of Fireline Training and Consulting and developer of Ignite Your Writing training seminars.  Mary is a retired firefighter from South Metro (Denver) Fire Department and an adjunct instructor at Colorado State University and the National Fire Academy.

Mary is a board member of the International Society of Fire Service Instructors.  She is a member of the American Society of Training and Development and belongs to the National Fire Academy Alumni Association.  In addition to presenting Ignite Your Writing seminars, her professional services include teaching adult instruction workshops, speaking at regional and national conferences, providing program development services, editing various fire department projects and emergency operational plans and consulting with fire departments for development and evaluation of written components of promotional exams and assessment centers.  She has written extensively on the need to elevate writing standards in the fire service.
