Biography:

Tom Montoya is a Denver native and began his fire service career with the Denver Fire Department in 1973.  He eventually achieved the rank of Division Chief in the Human and Fiscal Resources Division.  In 1990 Tom was appointed as the Chief of the Albuquerque Fire Department.  After leaving Albuquerque, he served as the Chief of South Metro Fire Rescue from 1994 to 1999.  From 2000 until April of 2008, Tom worked as a Division Chief for the Longmont Fire Department.  He is currently the Deputy Director of Human Resources for the State of Colorado Department of Personnel and Administration.  The Human Resources Division oversees the Human Resources functions for the 32,000 classified state employees.

Tom's favorite activities are hiking and snowshoeing.
