
FESA Curriculum
The FESA Bachelor of Science is designed to allow students to pursue a course of study that reflects his or her career and professional goals. The nine (9) FESA core courses are intended to provide students with a solid base of administrative theory and practice as applied in the fire and emergency services. All degree seeking students must complete the FESA core curriculum.
Students must complete a minimum of 120 credits for graduation. Of these 120 credits, 42 credits must be upper division (300-400 level), with a minimum of 30 upper division credits earned at Colorado State. Transfer coursework from an accredited 2-year institution may not exceed 64 credits; there is no limit on transfer coursework from accredited 4-year institutions. General Education Requirements
All students graduating from Colorado State University are required to complete the All University Core Curriculum (AUCC), either by completing CSU coursework or transfer credits from an accredited institution. The AUCC curriculum consists of 36 credits of general education coursework. *AUCC Category 1 - Basic Competencies must be completed within the first 60 credits earned (CSU and transfer). Transfer credits do count toward this 60-credit rule. Students transferring 40 or more credits into Colorado State are advised that math and composition requirements should either be met from transfer credits or are to be completed in the first semester at Colorado State University. **First-time students entering a college or university on or after July 1, 2008 must take an advanced writing course to satisfy AUCC Category 2. Category 2A is not an option for first-time students.
